Claire Loon Baldwin illustrated the cover for New England Gives, an annual print magazine included in the Sunday Boston Globe. The publication highlights New England nonprofits to support during the holiday season.

Her watercolor and ink illustration features hands embracing a heart-shaped arrangement of symbols representing the nonprofits, including a rockhopper penguin from the Boston Aquarium, an elephant from the Boston Zoo, an affordable housing unit, a graduation cap, fresh produce, and a crashing wave. The composition conveys a sense of abundance, and reflects the holistic range of causes featured in the magazine.

Created on a tight timeline, Claire worked closely with the Creative Director through two rounds of digital drafting before rendering the final design in watercolor and ink. She then scanned and refined the illustration in Procreate, preparing it for both print and digital formats. To ensure seamless publication, she provided multiple background options, file sizes, and formats optimized for different media.
