Illustrations for Maine Ocean Farms

Watercolor, ink, and digital media, 2022

In 2022, Claire Loon Baldwin created a series of custom illustrations for Maine Ocean Farms, an aquaculture company known for its award-winning 'Wet Smack' oysters, farmed in Maine's Casco Bay. The project included a detailed oyster anatomy illustration, a custom farm map, and an illustration titled "What Makes a Wet Smack?" showcasing the farm’s unique product. As an oyster fan herself, Claire enjoyed sampling the oysters while working on these pieces, which were later featured on Maine Ocean Farms' merchandise and apparel. Claire created a text animation for the oyster anatomy, which performed strongly and had high engagement on social media.

Using watercolor, ink, and digital media, Claire’s designs highlight the farm’s eco-conscious approach while adding a timeless, classic character to their brand. The illustrations contribute to the farm’s marketing and are available on a range of products.
