Wildflower Color Wheel

Watercolor and Ink Illustration, 2023

This Wildflower Color Wheel illustration was created to celebrate the beautiful biodiversity of native wildflowers, and is inspired by Claire's time spent living in, working in, and exploring national parks throughout the American West. The botanical illustrations include native species found in harsh, high-alpine environments such as Mount Rainier, the North Cascades, and Glacier National Park, as well as resilient desert wildflowers of Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, and Arches National Park.

The illustration was rendered completely by hand with watercolor and ink in 2023, and the original painting was showcased at the Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens in 2024.

This design is available for purchase as environmentally friendly prints, stickers, and greeting cards directly on Claire Loon Baldwin's Etsy shop, as well as wholesale. The Wildflower Color Wheel is available for purchase on fabrics and home goods on Spoonflower.

Watercolor illustration of a botanical wheel featuring various wildflowers arranged radially around a central point. Each flower is carefully labeled with its common name and scientific name, including examples such as 'California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica),' 'Desert Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua),' and 'Large-leaved Lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus).' The flowers are depicted in vibrant colors, showcasing their unique shapes and details. The layout creates a harmonious and educational display against a clean, light background.
